About the Position:

 

We are looking for a Defect Manager - JL JT MCA  to join the Electronics team, reporting directly to the System Engineering Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Southfield Michigan.
 

As the Defect Manager - JL JT MCA  at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....

Your Responsibilities will be:

1. Deploy the Defect Management Process into the project, taking into account also the management of the Customer defects in Marelli toolchain
2. Define the defect curve (stratified by severity, area / domain, etc) with expected target curves according to the project parameters and customer milestones  
3. Track defects to closure. Lead the CCB with the aim to agree with all other technical Leaders, depending on ownership, timing and priorities for defect resolution
4. Ensure common understanding of defects between Product Validation team and Software and Hardware teams
5. Reference entry point for defect management synchronizations between Marelli tool and customer or suppliers tools. 
6. Provide regular status reports that illustrates the defect status and related metrics (escaped defects, average resolution, priority/severity, regression and duplication percentage, …) 
7. Support WAR Room Meetings

9. Reference entry point towards customer for defect part.
10. Review and discuss with the Customer the defects status on a periodical basis with the project support (Technical Project Manager, Product Validation Leader, SW PL and Quality)

11. Coordinate with TPM and SW PL to ensure defect validation is supporting product issue resolution until closure
12. Support Product Validation Engineer and Project Manager for defects part based on Marelli tool (JIRA Kanban, Jira Dashboard)
13. Support the CCB (Change Control Board) meeting for the defects part

What Qualifications you will bring:

  1. Electronic Engineering Degree, Information Science Degree
  2. English (reccomended): written and spoken independent use (B2 level)
    Customer interfaces language knowledge: written and spoken independent use (B2 level minimum)
  3. At least 5 years-experience in System Tests activities. The above competences have to be maturated in automotive area or other large scale markets
  4. Ability to work in multinational distributed teams
  5. High capacity of analysis and synthesis for all the technical issues
  6. Problem solving attitude
  7. Customer management ability 
  8. Test Management and Defect Management tools knowledge
  9. Reporting
