About the Position:

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to oversee our SLM development (ECU) at our Southfield, MI location. The role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of electronic systems. Providing seamless customer interaction on technical aspects of the project. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Lead a team of electronic, software and system engineers developing lighting electronics systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise the development team to meet program milestones.
  • Responsible of team deliverables with special focus on customer requirements, system block diagrams, wire harnesses, engineering work packages review, functional tests, validation testing (follow up of environmental, EMC pre-compliance and SW validation), electronics manufacturing, among others.
  • Work jointly with cross-functional teams, including software, optics, and mechanics engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specifications.
  • Upper management reports for on-going activities and forecasted risks.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and safety regulations like ISO26262.
  • Manage customer interface to address technical aspects of the development by collaborating with the electronics and software teams.
  • Support cost reduction ideas and “Design to Cost” activities.
  • Work with Electronics Manufacturing Suppliers during program launch.
  • Support cost reduction ideas and “Design to Cost” activities.
  • Manage TIER1 interactions for proper SLM (ECU) implementation.

What Qualifications you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, ECU or lighting experience required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in automotive engineering, with a focus on automotive systems.
  • Experience with SW Development Life cycle is desired.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in the automotive sector.
