About the Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Software Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software for Automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The Software Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules and deliverables, ensure compliance with industry standards, and act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Project Planning & Execution
- Define project milestones, deliverables, and schedules aligned with customer requirements.
- Manage project scope, priorities, risks, and dependencies.
- Track progress using project management tools and report regularly to stakeholders.
- Team Coordination
- Collaborate closely with software architects, technical leads, domain engineers, and integration teams.
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Ensure alignment between software development, validation, and release activities.
- Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface with OEM customers, suppliers, and internal leadership.
- Conduct regular project reviews and communicate project status transparently.
- Manage customer escalations and provide timely resolution strategies.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure project execution adheres to ASPICE, ISO 26262, and AUTOSAR standards.
- Monitor quality metrics (defects, rework, release stability) and drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate design reviews, audits, and assessments with process teams.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans.
- Drive WAR ROOM activities for critical issues impacting schedules or SOP readiness.
- Maintain issue logs and ensure timely closure with root-cause resolution.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project management of embedded software in automotive ECU programs.
- Strong understanding of ECU software lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, integration, validation).
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR, ASPICE processes, and ISO 26262 functional safety.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in complex projects.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, or similar).
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification.
- Hands-on familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS).
- Exposure to ECU domains such as Powertrain, Body Control, Infotainment, or Instrument Clusters.
- Experience working with global teams and managing distributed development.
