About the Position:

 

We are looking for a MFE Preproduction Coordinator to join the MFE, Lighting, Marelli team, reporting directly to the Shop Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Toluca Mexico
 

As the MFE Preproduction Coordinator at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment of Manufacturing Excellence (MFE) methodologies during pre-production phases, ensuring processes are optimized before mass production starts.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to develop robust manufacturing processes and layouts for new products.
  • Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and launch activities, identifying and mitigating risks prior to production ramp-up.
  • Facilitate standardization and best practice sharing in equipment selection, workflow optimization, and material flow during pre-production.
  • Analyze potential bottlenecks and inefficiencies in pre-production processes; drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor KPIs related to pre-production efficiency, quality, and adherence to timing milestones.
  • Organize and deliver training for teams involved in pre-production on lean principles, problem-solving, and process optimization.
  • Prepare and present reports on pre-production readiness, highlighting achievements, actions required, and risks to management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements in pre-production activities.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and pre-production process engineering.
  • Experience in APQP, launch management, and process design for new product introduction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset, particularly in early phase process development.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Project management experience, especially in pre-production or launch context.
  • Capability to coach and train teams in process excellence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, process simulation, and manufacturing-related tools.

Other skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing excellence, lean methodologies, or process engineering.
  • Experience with APQP and new product launch management.
  • Familiarity with process simulation and manufacturing software.

Expectations:

  • Demonstrate proactive leadership to ensure that pre-production processes are efficient, standardized, and ready for mass manufacturing.
  • Achieve successful launches with minimized waste, rework, and downtime during ramp-up.
  • Build strong relationships with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless transition from pre-production to full production.
  • Deliver timely feedback, documentation, and recommendations to management to support launch milestones.
  • Foster a culture of manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement even in early project phases.
  • Support the achievement of plant and corporate objectives by ensuring robust pre-production practices.
