About the Position:
We are looking for a DigITal Key Management Engineer to join the DigiTal team, reporting directly to the Product Cybersecurity Lead.
This position is based at our office in Trnava.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Implementation and Maintenance: Execute the development, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cryptographic systems including HSMs and front ends, ensuring they operate securely and efficiently within Marelli's infrastructures and manufacturing plants, as well as implement specific applications and functionalities to manage cryptographic keys for Marelli products.
- Secure Operations Management: Manage secure storage, encryption, decryption, and digital signatures using hardware security modules (HSMs), ensuring compliance with security protocols and standards.
- Incident Management: support manufacturing and process engineer to manage incident related to Key management infrastructures malfunctions affecting the production lines.
- Collaboration and Technical Support: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to co-design solutions and provide technical support related to SKI components.
- Network configuration requirements: Provide requirements for proper configuration and management of network VLANs to support secure communication between SKI components.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor the performance of key management infrastructures, troubleshoot issues, and generate reports ensuring optimal functionality.
- Disaster Recovery: Implement robust backup and recovery solutions using Luna Backup Units to safeguard cryptographic materials.
- Security Protocol Implementation: Develop and maintain mutually authenticated REST APIs and WebUI for secure user and machine interactions.
What Qualifications you will bring:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Technical Expertise:
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Thales Luna Network HSM, Thales CCKM, CipherTrust, and PKI technologies such as EJBCA.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of virtual machine management, Unix Operating Systems, and networking concepts, including VLANs and firewall management.
- Proven experience in configuring and managing PKI solutions, including certificate authority (CA) and registration authority (RA) functions.
- Familiarity with cryptographic standards and protocols, including X.509, SSL/TLS, and related PKI best practices.
- Hands-on experience with BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) and DKE (Double Key Encryption) solutions.
Knowledge of Standards:
- Familiarity with product cybersecurity standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155, and related certification processes.
- Familiarity with cryptographic key standards and RFC (e.g., RFC-5280, PKCS#10, PKCS#11).
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-57, NIST SP 800-130, NIST SP 800-152.
- Coding and Programming Experience: Proven proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++, with experience in developing and integrating software solutions related to cryptographic systems. Scripting proficiency with Bash or PowerShell is also required.
- Cryptography and Security Experience: Proven expertise in managing cryptographic keys, encryption/decryption processes, and tamper-proof security measures.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical data and produce actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical details to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Extensive experience with manufacturing infrastructures and processes.
- Certification from Thales in using and managing HSMs, such as Thales Certified HSM Engineer, is highly desirable.
