About the Position:
We are looking for a Production Unit Senior Specialist to join the Manufacturing Electronics team, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Production
This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlan, México.
As the Production Unit Senior Specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing production processes for electronic components, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are maintained. This role acts as a technical expert and supports continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen activities.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues.
- Lead troubleshooting of equipment and process failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production lines.
- Train operators and junior staff on process changes, best practices, and safety standards.
- Participate in new product launches and line transfers, providing technical expertise.
- Prepare reports for management on production KPIs, downtime, and productivity.
- Contribute to cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing/production in an electronics environment.
- Knowledge of electronic assembly processes (SMT, soldering, testing, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Fluency in English; local language is a plus
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Project Management: Experience in managing or supporting production-related projects, such as line upgrades, automation, or process optimization.
- Data Analysis: Proficient in using production management software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and analytical tools (Excel, Power BI) for data collection and interpretation.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to create, review, and update technical documentation, including work instructions, failure analysis, and root cause reports.
- Automation & Robotics: Understanding of automated production lines, robotics integration, and PLC troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Change Management: Skilled in implementing process changes and managing resistance within the team.
- Quality Systems: Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and audit procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Certified in methodologies such as Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred) or Lean Manufacturing.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Expertise in problem-solving using tools like FMEA, 8D, Fishbone Diagram, and PDCA.
- Supplier Coordination: Ability to liaise with suppliers for parts, equipment, and troubleshooting support.

- Collaboration: Regularly interact with R&D, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics functions, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Innovation: Bring forward new ideas for process enhancements, technology adoptions, or cost-saving measures.
- Professional Development: Pursue additional training, certification, or learning opportunities relevant to the role.
- Reporting: Prepare clear and actionable reports for management, highlighting issues, progress, and opportunities.
