About the Position:
We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join the Electronics, reporting directly to the Supplier Development Manager.
This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlán.
As the Supplier Development Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible ensures that purchased materials, components, and services meet Marelli Electronics quality requirements. This role collaborates closely with suppliers, engineering teams, procurement, and manufacturing to validate and improve supplier processes, drive corrective actions, and maintain compliance with industry standards (such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001).
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to verify quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Qualify new suppliers and manage ongoing supplier performance assessments.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related defects and nonconformities.
- Review and approve supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions and other quality documentation.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics and regular reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve quality concerns and support launch activities.
- Ensure supplier adherence to Marelli ELS standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline.
- Experience in automotive supplier quality or similar industry preferred.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and statistical process control.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
