About the Position:

 

We are looking for a SMT technicians  to join the Electronics Manufacturing team, reporting directly to the SMT Coordinator.
 

This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlan, México.
 

As the SMT technicians at Marelli, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role includes setting up machines, performing quality inspections, handling components, and ensuring production standards in an electronics manufacturing environment. 

Your Responsibilities will be:

 

  • Set up and operate SMT assembly machines (such as pick-and-place, solder paste printer, reflow oven).
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Inspect assembled PCBs for soldering defects, component placement, and overall quality.
  • Perform manual soldering tasks as needed.
  • Assist in process development and optimization.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean work area.

What Qualifications you will bring:

  • Technical diploma or certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience with SMT assembly equipment (e.g., pick-and-place machines, reflow oven, solder paste printer).
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards for PCB assembly and inspection.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or production environments.

Other skills that we would welcome:

  • Ability to read and interpret PCB assembly drawings and component placement files.
  • Strong manual dexterity for handling small components and performing precision tasks.
  • Basic troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills for SMT machinery.
  • Familiarity with computer-based machine interfaces and production software.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
