About the Position:
We are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to join the Maintenance team, reporting directly to the Senior Maintenance Engineer.
This position is based at our office in Washington, Northeast UK.
As the Maintenance Coordinator at Marelli, you will be responsible to effectively manage and coordinate activities on shift to ensure customer deliveries and quality requirements are not compromised. Support the Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering teams ensuring concise communication of shift breakdown issues and countermeasures are reported, in daily Quality meetings.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Lead onshift maintenance team, ensuring planned maintenance activities are carried out, supporting breakdown activities and related reporting, support in the achievement of departmental KPI's.
- Plan, manage and carry out improvement / Kaizen activities involving current production processes based on maintenance data in order to meet or exceed KPI's, ultimately improving profitability by Cost Of Poor Quality improvement.
- Current production support, supporting Manufacturing teams with technical problem solving activities whether related to breakdown or chronic issues.
- Responsibility for equipment safety in line with PUWER 98 Regulations. Responsible for managing equipment suppliers, Responsible for the safety of self and others, including contractors.
- Manage and plan maintenance resource with respect to shift cover / Holidays / Planned activities, Identify training needs of maintenance team, be able to give on the job training as well as external training. comprehensive reporting on daily breakdowns.
- Plan and track spend and budgets, relating to repairs and spares.
- Identify improvement opportunities, including estimating improvement target.
- Work with cross functional teams to gather information, consider and evaluate all ideas and develop a plan.
- Implement improvements, gather evidence of outcomes and communicate to all.
- Support QRQC Quality activities, including root cause analysis and countermeasure development., ensure closure of PDCA loop.
- Ensure any modification or improvements to equipment are carried out in line with PUWER regulations, adherence to Marelli EBR (Equipment basic requirements), and in line with local Regulations (Supply of Machinery Safety Regulations).
- Contractor and supplier management during work on Marelli sites.
What Qualifications you will bring:
HNC or HND in Engineering desirable.
Other skills that we would welcome:
- Technical role experience in high volume manufacturing enviroment is essential.
- Experience of technologies used in Exhaust Manufacture desirable, particularly MIG welding, Industrial robots, Control systems, Omron & Siemens PLC.
- Understanding and experience of relevant manufacturing processes, would be a strong advantage. Equipment including - MIG welding including automated machines and with robots & Good PLC SKills
- Excellent Mechanical and Electrical Fault finding experience.
- Team Supervision Experience
- The flexibility to be involved in all aspects of the production process and equipment, and the associated services, is essential.
- MMS Systems familliarisation as well as stores control and ordering.
- Good Understanding of root cause analysis.
