About the Position:
We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join the Purchasing team, reporting directly to the SDE Manager, China
This position is based at our office in Wuhu
As the Supplier Development Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate as
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Support R&D, Project Buyer and Development Team in Supplier selection of new buy components from external supplier and all sourcing phases
- Act as “One-voice” towards Suppliers across all involved Divisions
- Ensure supply risk analysis evaluation in the early project phase
- Participate to Technical Analysis and validate suppliers solutions in terms of Quality, Technical/ Process, Capability and Timing; in line with the project team
- Ensure lessons learned application through feasibility commitment and Technical Analysis approval.
- Ensure the implementation of Wire harness state & Plastic commodity state of the art and best in class standards/practice requirements in supplier processes through the application of Commodity Quality Check List
- Ensure the transmission and implementation of Customer requirements
- Validate the APQP Review performed by or with the suppliers
- Follow up the planning, execution and completion of all tasks required for Production part Approval Process (PPAP) evaluation and approval (including tool payments when relevant and interim approval management when applicable)
- Support PPAP validation during Change Management process and promote second sourcing
- Take decisions, solve problems autonomously, escalate properly
What Qualifications you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Industrial sectors (electrical/electronic engineering, materials engineering, Physics , Plastic or equivalent, )
- fluent English (written, spoken)
- Minimum 5 years in industrial sector, with at least 2 years in quality field; professional experience in automotive industry preferred. Experience in supplier quality field is highly appreciated
- Able to negotiate and convince, able to manage meetings
- Perfect knowledge in approaching new component development: supplier selection, Requirements definition, Advance Product Quality Planning, verification of production capacity, Initial Samples Control Reports validation, Production Part Approval Process; experience in Process Audit (qualified Auditor license according to VDA 6.3 is preferred)
- Knowledge and practice of quality tools: FMEA, Statistical Process Control, Process capabilities, problem solving.. (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis, experience capitalization, etc.)
